The German Cancer Research Congress is a joint event of the German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ), the German Cancer Aid (Deutsche Krebshilfe) and the German Cancer Society (DKG), together with the Oncology Centers of Excellence of the German Cancer Aid (CCC-Netzwerk der Onkologischen Spitzenzentren), the German Cancer Consortium (DKTK), the National Center for Tumor Diseases (NCT), and the Division of Experimental Cancer Research (AEK) of the DKG.
The congress is a contribution to the National Decade against Cancer and aims to promote networking between various key players and stakeholders in the cancer research landscape in Germany, and to feature selected highlights and cutting-edge science from basic via preclinical to translational cancer research. Moreover, the German Prize for Cancer Prevention Research is awarded the second time.

This congress will cover a variety of topics such as metabolism & cancer, bioinformatics & functional genomics for precision medicine, microbiome & cancer, tumor evolution & heterogeneity and resistance, tumor metastasis, immuno-oncology breakthroughs with cell therapy, patient participation in research, molecular profiling based diagnosis and therapy, early detection of cancer and detection of minimal residual disease, immunotherapy beyond checkpoint inhibition, turning big data into smart data, among others.
In addition to the plenary sessions, we have planned interactive elements, several workshops and a poster exhibition to provide insights into the exciting field of cancer research.

Please submit your abstract on clinical research & investigator-initiated trials by August 31, 2023. Abstracts submitted will be considered for the “Pitches on study ideas” on the third day of the congress (Nov 1).
