Antisemitism often manifests in indirect ways today—whether through distortions of historical facts, hatred of Israel, populist critiques of capitalism, or conspiracy narratives. Social media and popular culture contribute to the dissemination of antisemitic stereotypes, yet the antisemitic core of such rhetoric is not always easy to identify. This is particularly evident in debates surrounding Israel, where the boundaries between legitimate criticism and antisemitic narratives frequently become blurred.
This lecture will explore contemporary forms of antisemitism, outline its historical roots, and decode typical antisemitic tropes and imagery in current discourses. Through concrete examples, participants will learn how to identify subtle antisemitic statements and critically assess their implications.
A subsequent Q&A session will provide an opportunity for deeper discussion and engagement with the topic.
