Welcome to the registration page for the 2nd Science meets Industry Day
We are pleased to invite you to the 2nd Science meets Industry Day, taking place on October 20, 2026, at the BDC Meeting Space in Heidelberg.
Following the success of the inaugural event, the German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ), the German Cancer Consortium (DKTK), and the Association of Research-Based Pharmaceutical Companies (vfa) are once again bringing together representatives from academia and industry to foster dialogue, collaboration, and innovation in translational cancer research.
The event will be complemented by a pre-event program on October 19, 2026, including guided visits to selected DKFZ research and technology facilities (for industry partners only) and a networking dinner (for all participants).
The Science meets Industry Day provides a platform for exchange between researchers, clinicians, technology experts, and industry partners. The program will feature selected translational research projects from DKFZ and DKTK, industry perspectives, and interactive discussions on key challenges in academia-industry collaboration.
Participation is open to members of the vfa, DKFZ, DKTK and the NCT communities. Please note that due to space limitations at the venue, registration will be moderated.

📍 Date & Location
The 2nd Science meets Industry Day will take place on October 20, 2026, at the BDC Meeting Space Heidelberg (Carl-Friedrich-Gauß-Ring 5, 69124 Heidelberg, Germany). The meeting will be held in person.
📅 Pre-Event Program
On October 19, 2026, industry participants are invited to join a pre-event program at the DKFZ campus in Heidelberg. The program includes guided visits to selected research and technology facilities, offering insights into cutting-edge cancer research and innovation infrastructure.
The site visits will be followed by a networking dinner, providing an opportunity for informal exchange between representatives from academia and industry.
🍽️ Networking Dinner
A networking dinner will take place on October 19, 2026, from 18:30 to 21:00 CEST, at the Heidelberg Marriott Hotel (Vangerowstraße 16, 69115 Heidelberg).
The dinner is part of the pre-event program and offers an opportunity for informal exchange and networking between representatives from academia and industry ahead of the main event. Participation in the networking dinner requires prior registration.
🏨 Accommodation
Participants are kindly asked to make their own travel and accommodation arrangements. To assist you with planning your stay, we have selected the following hotels, which are conveniently located near the event venues:
- Staycity Aparthotels Heidelberg, Speyerer Straße 7–9, 69115 Heidelberg – approximately 10 minutes on foot from the meeting venue and 10 minutes by public transport from the networking dinner venue.
- Heidelberg Marriott Hotel, Vangerowstraße 16, 69115 Heidelberg – venue of the networking dinner and approximately 15 minutes by public transport from the meeting venue.
Please note that these hotels are provided as recommendations only. Additional accommodation options are available throughout Heidelberg.

📝 Registration
Participation is open to members of the vfa, DKFZ, DKTK, and NCT communities. Registration will close on September 4, 2026. Please note that the number of participants is limited. Therefore, registrations are subject to review and final confirmation will be sent after the registration deadline.
