Arriving by public transport
From the main train station, you can reach the Max Planck Institute for Polymer Research via tram lines 51 and 53. The ride takes about 10 minutes.

Line 51 departs from stop A, line 53 from stop L.
Get off at the “Hochschule Mainz” stop. The institute is a two-minute walk away via Koblenzer Straße and Ackermannweg.
Arriving by car
Please note that Mainz and Wiesbaden are low emission zones. Only vehicles with a green emissions sticker are permitted to drive in the low emission zone.
From the south
From the south via the A 60 motorway, take the Mainz-Lerchenberg exit (exit 20). From there, turn right onto Koblenzer Straße and stay in the left lane. Immediately before the fifth traffic light, turn right onto the main entrance of the university. The institute is located on the left-hand side.
From the north
From the north via the A 60 motorway, take the Mainz-Finthen exit (exit 19). Follow the signs for “Innenstadt” (city center). After “Europaplatz,” turn right toward ‘Bretzenheim’ and “Universität” (university). Turn left at the next two traffic lights to reach the main entrance of the university. The institute is located on the left-hand side.
