Dear supervisors and trainees,

 

We are pleased to invite you to attend a '3-day hands-on Summer School' at the Forschungszentrum Jülich (FZJ), Germany prior to WTTC19 in Heidelberg. This workshop will consist half-day lectures and half-day laboratory practices in the Institute for Neurosciences and Medicine (INM-5-Nuclear Chemistry) at FZJ. Participants will learn about the production of medical radionuclides at our medical cyclotron (IBA CYCLONE® 30XP) on one day, radiochemical separation of radionuclides on another day, and radiolabeling and chelation study on the last day.

For hands-on Workshop participants attendance of main workshop (WTTC19) is mandatory! So, please register for WTTC19 and book your accommodation at your earliest convenience. Priority will be given to Bachelor-, Master- and PhD students, postdocs and young working professionals.

HOW TO APPLY ? NEW !!

Interested candidates must register online and submit their application package via Email at wttc19@dkfz.de. The application package should include: 

  • Motivation letter
  • CV
  • Support letter from your supervisor

 

Note: Bursary request can also be combined with the package !

We have few more places left in our Summer school. Therefore, the application deadline is extended to 31.05.2024. Please send your interests within the time frame.  The selection will be done by a review panel and will be notified to all by 14.06.2024. 

Important:  Since abstract deadline for WTT19 is closed now, we can only accept abstracts for poster presentations via Email to wttc19@dkfz.de. However, we also motivate those candidates who have already submitted their Abstract in WTTC19 may apply for summer school in Jülich. 

Please send your abstract for poster talk for WTTC19 along with the Summer school application package mentioned above. 

In order to provide an optimal level of attention, interactivity and support, seats are limited for about 30 participants. Acceptance will be based on evaluation of your application packages which will be reviewed by a review-panel and the results will be announced to each candidates in due time after application. 

 Selected candidates may proceed to the registration. After registration, every candidate has a window of 4 weeks to make the payment. via the payment link provided to you after registration.  In case the aforementioned limit is exceeded during the registration stage, a waiting list shall be set up.

Priority will be given to bachelor-, master- and PhD students, postdocs and young working professionals.

NOTE: Each candidate after registration to Summer school will receive an auto-generated email stating the 'Code' for the Hotel. Please use this Code while booking your room/s. Without mentioning this Code, the hotel wont proceed with your bookings.

The 15 classic hotel apartments are all located between 10 to 70 meters from the Stadt Hotel.

Each apartment is between 75 and 105 sqm, has two to three separate bedrooms with at least 82 cm LCD TVs, living corner or room, kitchen, hallway and bathroom.

All apartments are equipped with complete kitchen facilities and washing machines, which can be used free of charge.

Also included in the price are numerous free and inclusive services such as Wi-Fi, a Nespresso machine and a welcome mineral water.

A breakfast buffet is offered below the week daily from 6:30 am to 10 am. . The rich cold/warm breakfast can be booked at any time for 11,90 € /person/night on site.

 

IMPORTANT!

Organizing committee has reserved 15 apartments for accommodating 30 candidates in Stadthotel which is located at the center of Jülich. The hotel has various type of apartment with corresponding prices:

 

  • Single-room apartment for 1 person; Price/night: €99

There are total 3 single-room apartment reserved, which could be booked by 3 candidates. Price per apartment is €99 each night i.e. price per person each night is €99.

 

  • Double-rooms apartment for 2 persons (separate room for both person with shared kitchen and bathroom); Price/night: € 119

There are total 9 double rooms apartment reserved which shall accommodate 18 candidates. Price per apartment each night is €119 i.e. per person each night is €59.5.

 

  • Triple-rooms apartment for 3 persons (separate room for all three persons with shared kitchen and bathroom); Price/night: €154

There are total 3 triple rooms apartment reserved to accommodate 9 candidates. Price per apartment is €154 each night i.e. price per person each night is €51.33.

 

Summary: We recommend all the summer-school candidates to book Stadt hotel since it is comparatively cheaper than other hotels in Jülich, better coordination and communication amongst each other and hassle-free commute between hotel and Research center.
