Welcome to the Abstract Submission Portal for the 4th German Cancer Research Congress! We cordially invite you to submit your abstract and contribute to the success of the event. Thank you in advance for sharing your work with the conference community!
Please note that you may submit:
- A poster abstract (for a Poster or Flash Talk presentation)
- An abstract for a pitch highlighting an innovative study idea
Deadline: Abstracts must be submitted via this submission form by January 20, 2025. Emailed abstracts cannot be considered.
Please ensure your abstract adheres to the abstract submission guidelines.
Submitters will immediately receive a confirmation of receipt.
Abstract Selection
All abstracts submitted will be reviewed by an expert panel based on purpose, scientific content, novelty, relevance, methods, actuality, and language. Please note that participation and poster slots are limited. If we receive more abstracts than we can accommodate, we may need to make a selection. If a selection becomes necessary, we will also take the diversity of research institutions into account, ensuring broad representation. This may include limiting the number of abstracts accepted from the same laboratory.
Some of the submitted poster abstracts might be selected for a flash talk by the Scientific Program Committee. Please indicate in the registration form whether you are prepared to give a talk or whether you prefer to present a poster. Please note that for pitch abstracts, only talks can be given, and no poster presentations will be allowed.
Poster presenters must attend the poster session in person (virtual posters are not planned) and must register using the registration form. The participation fee as well as travel and accommodation expenses will not be covered by the DKFZ.
Flash talks will be selected from the submitted poster abstracts to be presented instead of posters.
Pitch talks will be selected from the submitted pitch abstracts and provide an opportunity to present innovative study ideas, even if they are still at a very early stage. Selected pitches will be showcased at the conference in 5-minute presentations, offering a platform to gain valuable feedback, find collaboration partners, and receive support for further development of the ideas. Study ideas are welcome from all areas of research, whether they are derived from basic science, preclinical studies, trial-enabling research or clinical-translational and clinical disciplines.
Notification of abstract acceptance will be sent to the submitting author by the end of February 2025. We will provide details on how to prepare for the on-site poster presentation or your selected oral presentation in due course.
