ICCP 2026 LMIC Scholarships
To promote equitable global participation in cancer prevention research, ICCP 2026 offers a limited number of scholarships for participants based in eligible low- and middle-income countries.
Eligibility is determined according to the European Commission’s Horizon Europe list of third countries automatically eligible for funding. Only applicants based in countries listed under “Participants from the following low- to middle-income countries are automatically eligible for funding” are eligible to apply. Two types of support are available:
Online Waiver Program - Waiver of the online participation fee for the live stream ticket
Travel Scholarship - Travel support for active participation on site (poster or oral presentation required)
What is covered
Online Scholarships cover full waiver of the live stream registration fee.
Travel Scholarships provide reimbursement of travel expenses after the conference against original receipts, up to a maximum of 1,180 EUR per person.
Eligible expenses include:
• economy-class travel
• accommodation
Reimbursement is processed after the conference and only upon submission of valid receipts.
Application procedure
Applicants are asked to submit a short motivation letter by email to iccp@dkfz.de.
The motivation letter should not exceed one page and should address

relevance of ICCP 2026 to your research or professional development

expected impact of your participation for your institution, country or region

if applicable, a short statement on financial need

- your full name and institutional affiliation
- your country of residence
- whether you are applying for an online fee waiver or a travel scholarship
- if applying for a travel scholarship, confirmation of your abstract submission
Selected applicants will be informed directly by the organizing team.
Application deadline
The deadline for Scholarship applications is May 5th, 2026 identical to the abstract submission deadline. Please note that Travel Scholarships can only be granted if the submitted abstract is accepted for presentation. Applicants will be informed about the outcome after completion of the abstract review process.

Selection criteria
If the number of eligible applications exceeds the available scholarships, selection will be based on the following criteria:
- expected impact of participation in the applicant’s local context
- demonstrated financial need
- relevance and quality of the submitted abstract
- geographic diversity
Visa support
If you require a visa to enter Germany, the organizing team will support you by providing a visa letter. To ensure timely processing, please provide all required information as soon as possible.
